Steve Richards is an Operating Partner at Pilus Capital and an experienced corporate finance professional with more than 20 years of experience across the software and technology sector. His background spans corporate finance, operational finance, strategic planning and analysis, and corporate development and M&A.

Steve began his career in investment banking and venture capital before moving into senior finance and corporate development roles. He has served as Chief Financial Officer for multiple technology and software start-up companies and held senior corporate development positions at large public companies, including Constellation Software, SAP, and BearingPoint. Across these roles, he has been actively involved in financial strategy, acquisitions, and value creation initiatives within technology-driven businesses.

Steve brings deep operating and transaction experience, combining hands-on leadership in growth-stage companies with exposure to complex M&A environments at scale.

Steve holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from the University of Virginia.
