Our Strategic Advisors

Alexander Ruckdaeschel is a Senior Advisor at Pilus Capital, advising on growth strategy, fundraising, and board-level governance across deep-tech, cybersecurity, and advanced technology businesses. He brings more than 25 years of experience as an investor, board member, and company builder across Europe and the United States.

Alexander has funded, co-founded, and scaled multiple private and publicly listed technology companies, with a particular focus on deep-tech, secure communications, and emerging digital infrastructure. He currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer and Board Member of Laxxon Medical and is a Co-Founder and Board Member of Quantum Optics Jena, a company focused on secure communications and cybersecurity technologies.

He serves as a Board Member of The Glimpse Group, a NASDAQ-listed virtual and augmented reality platform company, and previously served as a Board Member and the first institutional investor in Vuzix, where he also chaired the Compensation Committee. Earlier in his career, he was a Founding Board Member of ERI, the world’s largest electronics recycling company, and held fund management and advisory roles at Herakles Capital Management, AMK Capital Advisors, and Nanostart Funds AG.

In addition to his private sector career, Alexander served as the official representative of the German government in the United States. Earlier, he completed more than eight years of service in the German military, including participation in United Nations missions, gaining leadership experience in high-responsibility environments.

Alexander combines deep capital markets expertise with hands-on operational and governance experience, supporting management teams and investors in scaling technology-driven businesses and executing long-term growth strategies.
