Our Team

Charles Gravallese is the Chief Fund Accountant of Pilus Capital and brings extensive experience across accounting, fund administration, and financial leadership in private equity and operating businesses.

Charles began his career serving in the United States Air Force, where he was responsible for the maintenance of multi-million-dollar aircraft, developing a strong foundation in discipline, precision, and operational accountability. He later transitioned into the accounting profession, initially working in public accounting on audit and tax engagements before moving into senior in-house roles.

Most notably, Charles served as Controller and Chief Financial Officer of a manufacturing company, where he supported a period of significant growth, scaling annual revenues from approximately $25 million to $50 million through a combination of organic expansion and acquisitions. He subsequently joined the private equity sector at Black Dragon Capital, where he led the accounting function for the investment management entity and multiple fund vehicles. In this role, he also helped design and implement accounting processes for several early-stage platform and portfolio companies.

Throughout his career, Charles has built and led growing accounting teams, managed complex audit and tax cycles, and worked closely with external audit and tax advisors to ensure robust financial reporting, governance, and compliance.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant.
