David Dame

Senior Strategic Advisor

David Dame is a Senior Advisor at Pilus Capital, advising on private equity strategy, portfolio operations, and value creation. He brings more than 30 years of experience across operating leadership, management consulting, and private equity investing.

David began his career in operating roles across sales, marketing, R&D, and services, progressing into senior P&L leadership positions spanning businesses from approximately $20 million in revenue to multi-billion-dollar enterprises. This operating background formed the foundation for his later work in consulting and investing.

He subsequently co-founded a multi-million-dollar strategy consulting firm that was later merged into the IBM Consulting Group. As a Principal at IBM Consulting, David worked with senior management teams to diagnose complex strategic and operational challenges and design solutions integrating organizational structure, processes, and information technology. His client work spanned the healthcare, manufacturing, and energy sectors.

Over the past decade, David has focused on private equity investing and portfolio operations. He was a Partner at KPP, a $700 million private investment group focused on manufacturing, distribution, and services, where he also provided hands-on operational support to portfolio companies. He later served as Managing Director at KVP, a technology growth equity fund with $175 million under management, focusing on software investments. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Operating Partner at Huntsman Gay Global Capital, a $1.1 billion private equity firm, where he supported portfolio growth initiatives and growth equity investments. He also served as Managing Director and Operating Partner at Sorenson Capital, a $1.1 billion AUM software and cybersecurity-focused private equity and growth capital firm.

David holds a Master of Business Administration with Honors from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
